Chapter 2 Blog

Chapter 2, A Framework for Literacy 2.0 Thinking, was very informative and inventive as it discussed the teaching use of technology and the importance of it inside a classroom and the standards that include technology. According to the text, teachers are asked to select an instructional process for students and consider if technology can support these instructions and help the students' learning. Instead of printed text, this book suggests that technology deepens and expands students' comprehension of learning, especially when it comes to literacy. I believe that teachers should have a lot of common knowledge when it comes to using technology as it helps the students learn it at the same time. The different techniques of technology, especially during this time period, are crucial for teachers to know how to work the Internet. Chapter 1 Blog

In chapter 1 "What Is Literacy 2.0 and What Happened to Literacy 1.0", it discusses the terms and explains technical advances that are used throughout many school systems. I really enjoyed how the chapter started off with the author writing about Ben, who is a child that has trouble learning to read. With all the new and improved technology that school systems could potentially have in the future, the author looks at how it may change Ben's life before he graduates in 2025. This section also focuses on how reading and writing could be different in the next few years to come because language is starting to evolve and the more high tech schools could be, can really reflect  how students are going to be able to learn and what the future has in store for students to come.
